Five Artist/Framers Exhibit Their Art
The Franklin Gallery at Ben Franklin Crafts, 60 Wakefield Street in
Rochester, will host Five Artist/Framers Exhibit Their Art – works by Lisa
Addison, Ross Bachelder, Tom Glover, Erin Molloy and Jason Turgeon – For the
month of January, 2009 during regular business hours. All five exhibiting
artists are fine art framers at Ben Franklin Crafts.
Lisa Addison has a BFA in studio art from the University of New Hampshire
and has exhibited at the Franklin Gallery and other Seacoast area galleries.
She has a special interest in abstract art and life drawing, and has a
studio at the Mill in Rollinsford.
Ross Bachelder has been active for many years as a writer, musician, theatre
professional and, since 1997, artist. In 2008 he exhibited in many Seacoast
area galleries, including 100 Market Street Gallery in Portsmouth,
Crackskull’s Book Store and Coffee House in Newmarket, the SBY Gallery in
South Berwick and Young’s Restaurant in Durham.
Tom Glover, who has a BFA in studio art from the University of New
Hampshire, has established himself in a few short years as one of the most
respected artists in northern New England and especially the Seacoast
region. His works have been exhibited in galleries in Maine, New Hampshire,
Massachusetts, Rhode Island and beyond. He has had a long-standing
relationship with the Marshall Store Gallery in York, Maine and, more
recently, the Banks Gallery in Portsmouth, and he has exhibited at the
Coolidge Center for the Arts in Portsmouth. Glover has a studio at the Mill
in Rollinsford. Many of his works are currently on exhibit at ArtStream
Gallery in Rochester.
Erin Molloy has a B.A. in Studio Art from the University of New Hampshire
with a concentration in Photography. With four years of experience, she
started Pentimento
Photography, where she focuses primarily on 35mm and medium format
portraiture but also includes various images from her travels abroad. Erin
has taught darkroom photography at the Exeter Center for Creative Arts. Her
most recent exhibit in the Seacoast Area was featured in SPOTLIGHT, the arts
magazine of the Portsmouth Herald.
Jason E. Turgeon, who has a studio at the Mill in Rollinsford, attended the
Maine College of Art in Portland from 1995 through 2000. There he was taught
a comprehensive foundation that influences his artistic work to this day. He
has worked as a sculptor, photographer and painter, and has exhibited his
photography and works in other media at the Franklin Gallery on two
occasions. As the founder of a free-lance business, Artist Helping Artists,
he takes on a wide array of custom projects for visual artists by special
assignment.
All Franklin Gallery artworks are available for purchase. When you attend
the artist’s opening or visit the gallery, you may ask the framer on duty
for assistance. Ben Franklin Crafts is open Mondays through Fridays 9:00
a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sundays 11:00 a.m.
